Hi Lovelies!!

I hope you have been doing alright.

For the longest time now, Vitamin C serums have been the biggest thing in the skincare universe. Everyone is using one, talking about it or selling it.

The thing is, I have very sensitive skin and sadly Vitamin C or L-Ascorbic acid has been on my list of trigger skincare ingredients, as a result, I have always been scared of using Vitamin C on my skin. But for review purposes, I decided to give this a try.

This is one of the most popular and affordable vitamin C serums out there.

Product Details: Roushun Vitamin C serum with Hyaluronic acid is a professional anti-ageing brightening serum and comes in a 30ml bottle.

Price: 30ml at 2,500 – 3,500naira. Price may vary based on your location. Click here to buy some skincare products reviewed.

Ingredients: Aqua, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Ascorbate, Glycereth-26, Morus Alba Root Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Alpha-arbutin, Phenoxyethanol, Peg 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Tocopherol, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Chondrus Crispus Powder, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Citrate.

My Experience

My experience with this serum is mixed but mostly bad. As I stated earlier, Vitamin C triggers reactions on my skin and that’s exactly what I got.
When I started using this serum, it stung my face. I thought I could get away with it but the stinging sensation never stopped. After almost 3 weeks of use, I knew I had to stop. It felt like my skin was literally going to tear at some point.

Although I reacted to it throughout my use, I did notice my face looked brighter. Also, it glowed on areas that were not covered with breakouts.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • No scent or smell.
  • Affordable when compared to most other Vit C serums.

Cons:

  • It stung my skin so much!!!
  • Leaves the skin extra sensitive to the sun. Use only at night!!!

Rating: 8/10

As much as I had a bad experience with this serum, I would highly recommend it to anyone. The only thing I would say is, if you have sensitive skin, kindly step far away from vitamin c serums in general but otherwise, it would be a lovely addition to your skincare routine.

Use Vitamin C serums mostly at night and Always use sunscreen during the day!!!

Until my next post, Kisses!
