Hi, lovelies,

I hope you are all doing okay. Today I want to review a new type of body scrub I laid my hands on, a few months ago and I absolutely love it.

Xtreme milk & honey whitening scrub is an emulsion scrub. Unlike the salt or sugar scrubs, this scrub comes in a paste/cream-like texture. This is my first time trying a scrub like this and the first thing I love is that I don’t feel like I’m brushing or scrapping my skin as salt or sugar scrubs sometimes make me feel.

Unlike sugar and salt scrubs, emulsion scrubs become a creamy exfoliating lotion/paste on the skin, leaving no oily residue, but only soft, supple skin behind.

Product Details: Xtreme whitening scrub is a product of Xtreme collection. This is a milk and honey scrub that claims to be a deliciously rich and creamy, skin smoothening and whitening body scrub. It comes in different variants like the gold scrub, strawberry scrub etc.

Price: 1,500 – 2,000 naira. Price may vary based on your location.

Ingredients: Aqua, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, polyethylene beads, light liquid, paraffin oil, glycerine, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, potassium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol/ methylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben, Mel(honey) extract, non-fat dry (milk) extract, C.I, 15985 perfume.

How to use:
  1. Wet your skin
  2. Apply all over your body like a cream/lotion and massage properly.
  3. Leave to dry
  4. Rinse off.

My Experience: A few months ago, I wrote a post about skin thinning and skin building which you can read here. In that post, I spoke about how my skin had started thinning and I was taking steps to help me rebuild my skin.

Coming back into a full skincare routine, I wanted a mild but effective way to scrub and exfoliate my skin all the physical scrubbing and this was perfect for me.

Xtreme body scrub has tiny beads that help with exfoliation. The beads are small and they are not harsh on the skin. I’ve gotten to the point where most times, I barely notice the beads because they are very gentle. The texture of this scrub is creamy and paste but very active.

Personally, I have nothing bad to say about this scrub. This scrub is mild and gentle for both my face and my body. My routine involves me scrubbing my body once a week but I scrub my face 2/3 times a week, depending on how I feel. Another great thing is that, now that I barely use body lotion, this scrub also leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized even without applying any moisturizer.

Pros

  • Gentle but effective exfoliation
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Long-lasting. I still have mine that I bought in December last year.
  • Leaves my skin feeling moisturized and soft
  • Very affordable

Cons

  • When it dries, it takes a lot of rubbing to wash off. It dries up to a white cast on the body.

Rating: 9/10!

I will definitely be buying this over and over again. This is definitely a keeper.

One thing I have come to realize also is that a lot of skincare products just add whitening or lightening to their names when in fact they do not lighten. That is my opinion of this scrub, it says whitening but did no such to my skin. I am guessing this is some sales tactic.

Although, if paired with other skin lightening products, it can yield visible skin lightening results. Also, this scrub can be pro-mixed or activated with any serum of choice. That I will consider for future purposes.

All in all, this is a great buy!

Until my next post.. Kisses!!

Hi
Used this particular scrub sometime ago but i remember not liking it very much.
It just felt like i was just rubbing in a lotion on my body. I like to feel like i am actually scrubbing my body whenever i am exfoliating, lol.
Good thing u liked it though
Thanks for the review.

    Hi Chinenye,
Thanks for you consistent comments. Do you have any other scrub that I can give a try?
