Hi there!

I hope you are all well.

Today, I will be reviewing RDL Kojic Whitening Soap. Not to tell so many stories, I came across the soap by asking around at the beauty supply store. Come to think of it, by now, those people will definitely be tired of me by now. I always seem to ask for something new every single time.

Product Details: RDL Kojic Whitening Soap with Orange Peel + AHA is a Philippine soap distributed by RDL Pharmaceutical Laboratories Inc.

Price: 1,000 Naira. Price may vary depending on your location.

Ingredients: Cocos nifera (coconut oil), water, sodium hydroxide, kojic acid, butylene glycol, citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) peel extract, fragrance, CI 45370, glycolic acid citrus acid, malic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, and butylated hydroxytoluene.

My Experience: I love this soap, I was a bit skeptical buying it at first but I don’t regret it. For the first 2 weeks, I noticed my skin started to peel. My arms, legs, palms, and feet all peeled. It was a bit intriguing for me being the first time a soap made me peel skin this much. After that, I started to notice the glow. It was an exciting experience!!! I don’t know in particular but I can bet that the number of acids in this soap was the reason why I peeled so much. The lactic acid, malic acid, citrus acid, and glycolic acids make for a strong peel.

Pros:

  • Lathers really well.
  • Has this hint of orange in its scent.
  • Brightened my skin and gave this pretty glow.
  • I feel like the best way to exfoliate and definitely take off that top layer of skin (peeling) is through acids and this soap does a more than perfect job of that.

Cons:

  • Melts easily when wet or in a wet or an airtight space.
  • Pricey when compared to Asantee and all other soaps I’ve used.
  • Extremely drying!!! This soap is drying.

Rating: 8.5/10

Honestly, I love this soap. I honestly love this so much that whenever I feel the urge to splurge a bit, I will get nothing less than 3 bars of this soap at once. Besides that, I love it and I would definitely not think twice about getting it again. I can honestly say kojic acid is another skin brightening ingredient that works really well with my skin.

Note that this soap peels the skin, very much. If you use this soap and notice a very strong level of peeling, don’t be alarmed, it is working. Also, do not peel the skin off by yourself, let the peeled skin fall off itself.

Until my next post, kisses.
