Otentika Maxitone Complexion Milk (Pink Label Lotion)

Product Details: Otentika is a Swiss formula lotion. It comes in 3 variants; dry skin, oily skin, and sensitive skin. I used the dry skin variant, the pink one which comes in a 300ml bottle as I have dry and sensitive skin. It is a Lima Complex Exclusive Formula and it is Hydroquinone free!

PACKAGING: It comes in a pack which a scratch panel on the bottle. This is to confirm the authenticity of the product.

Price: 3500naira. Price may vary depending on your location.

INGREDIENTS; Aqua(water), propylene glycol, vegetal glycerin, glyceryl stearate, parafinum liquidum (mineral oil), stearic acid, palmitic acid, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, ceteareth 25, sodium lauryl sulfate, triethanolamine puriss, Butyrospermum parkii, glycyrrhiza glabra, murus alba, ascorbic acid, methylparaben, propylparaben, parfum (fragrance), linalool, limonene, eugenol, Evernia furfuracea extract, citral, geraniol.

My Experience

I used the lotion for 3 weeks approximately before I stopped and I had a love-hate relationship with this lotion. I love the smell of this lotion and its texture. It left my skin feeling soft and it evened me out completely.

Initially, I loved my skin from the 1st week until the second week, I noticed green veins all over my body. From my head to my toe even on my palms. (Aren’t green veins caused by steroids?).

Otentika lotion didn’t seem to contain anything that could cause green veins but I was frantic. Although I didn’t stop using it immediately, I just kept hoping it was not the lotion.  Until I couldn’t go out without wearing a long sleeve did it occur to me to stop using the lotion.

Pros:

  • Amazing smell
  • Smoothens and evens out the skin.
  • It gives a soft texture to the skin.
  • Brightens the skin tone

Cons:

  • GREEN VEINS!!!!

Rating; 2/10

I cannot recommend it to anyone neither will I be purchasing this ever again. I was truly hurt. Whilst, I am well aware that certain people have used it and have given good testimonies about it, this lotion doesn’t seem like a good fit for me.

Has anyone else had this issue with Otentika lotion? please let me know in the comments section. I would love to hear from you.

I have used it for many years in the UK but was surprised to learn it was discontinued and no longer available in the UK as they found out contains Hydroquinone!! not sure if this is true or not. the only problem I had with it is when I stopped using it my skin was terrible and broke out and needed a long time to recover but as long as I was still using it my skin was great!

hello ANON.. My fear with that is what happens if eventually you stop for
some reason?? But as long as it works for you then I guess it is good.
Concerning the hydroquinone issue I wouldn’t know but I still wonder
what could have caused the green veins.

@ uncovered…I had the same experience, my skin was super duper each time I use it, however, it’s no more available in Nigeria and now, it’s telling on my skin cos I am breaking out big time from all the products I try to use mostly on my face. Pls how were you able to recover fully from the breakouts?

Green veins are already there it only shows on thinning skin. The lotion thinned your skin as with any lightening or exfoliating products. I’ll still use it but alternate with Shea butter.

I think the old otentika is better than this new, my skin was awesome when i was using the old one but this new old dries my skim

    Hi Phina,
Since they started the new one, i have completely forgotten about O’tentika, to be honest.

Temi · December 28, 2019 at 8:07 pm

The old line was beautiful for my skin. When I stop, I get darker and skin stops looking as good. The new line is a disaster! My skin burns from it and hurts when I apply perfume on myself. I didn’t know until I stopped the new line and then when I ran out of the old line, I started using the new line again. Within 3days, the burns started. Such a shame!

    Hi Temi,
So sorry for your experience. Honestly though, the new line is not attractive to me to even try again.

Hi, My name is Juliet. I’d like O’tentika company should pls change the line of the new one to the formal line. I love O’tentika lot. I have bn using this product for quite sometime and its good on me. I want to plead that they should improve the content and line. Thanks.

Half Price Beau · March 25, 2020 at 4:08 pm

    Hi Juliet,
I also noticed that they made a lot of changes to their line in general, Seeing that made me loose interest in ever buying them again. I hope they revert to their old recipe too.

Hi, I want to say that O’tentika has bn my lotion right from the start. I love the lotion a lot but, l want to plead that they should improve the content like the old line. I’d truly appreciate if my request is granted. Thanks

Juliet · March 25, 2020 at 8:58 pm

    Jasmine · April 15, 2020 at 6:37 am

Going back to the old recipe I agree. I wish they do the same with their Hypercreme Illumination line as well.
